— THE PROBLEM

Travelers struggle with fragmented trip planning—managing different apps, documents, and services across platforms. Business travelers in particular need a single, reliable source of truth to reduce stress and improve efficiency.

For this step, we conducted a desk research about the new trends in "bleisure travelling" (mixed travelling habits between business and leisure), as well as 5 interviews and an online survey to understand our user's painpoints and create a persona.

Design principles

Moon’s design is guided by three core principles: transparent, personalised, and situational. We wanted the experience to feel like a capable, travel-savvy friend — responsive, reassuring, and discreet. The tone of voice is warm but concise, offering help without overwhelming. Whether suggesting local tips or surfacing key documents, Moon speaks with intention and empathy, and finds a balance between safety, excitement, and enthusiasm.

Architecture & Flows

We structured the app’s information architecture around the natural rhythm of a trip — from planning and booking to arrival and exploration. User flows were designed to reduce friction, grouping related tasks and minimising cognitive load. Key documents, bookings, and recommendations are surfaced contextually, allowing travellers to stay focused and in control without digging through menus.

Wireframing

Wireframing played a key role in shaping Moon’s experience. We explored low-fidelity prototypes early on to test how users would navigate between trip details, documents, and recommendations without cognitive overload. By mapping out key screens and transitions, we could validate layout decisions and ensure that Moon felt intuitive, responsive, and travel-friendly from the start — even before visual design came in.

Next Steps

The next phase focuses on building a design system to ensure consistency across the app as it scales. From there, we’ll move into interactive prototyping and early code-aligned exploration in Cursor, collaborating closely with developers to bring the experience to life. We’re also beginning to explore AI integration with tools like n8n — using smart suggestions and contextual prompts to make Moon feel even more intuitive, helpful, and personal for both business and leisure travelers.
